Prolonged use of conventional chemical fertilizers creates soil acidity, killing microbial organisms that help plants to absorb nutrients from the soil and eventually preventing such soils from sustaining plant growth, hence dependent on conventional chemical fertilizers. Over the long term, more and more conventional chemical fertilizers must be applied for the same yield, eventually making soils unproductive. The nutrients in AgriPOWER®, including seaweed extract, assist in re-establishing the soil microorganisms that promote Biological Nitrogen Fixation (BNF). As these microorganisms break down and feed on the organic sources in the soil, they reduce the pH around the fertilizer molecules, thereby making nutrients more available to plant roots.  Crops grown with ​AgriPOWER® will likely experience a limited rise in the level of soil acidity in the areas of root formation initially (but not in the entire field). Over time, the microorganisms increased by AgriPOWER® will create a balance in the pH of the soil around the plant, after fixation occurs in the soil.  Use of AgriPOWER® helps avoid Hypertonic soil, which can be caused by conventional chemical fertilizers. Hypertonic soil requires extra water to bring the soil back to balanced pH or can even cause water to be pulled from the plants themselves, and can harm beneficial soil microorganisms and soil microbiome.  AgriPOWER® also repairs and improves soil quality by promoting microbe and earthworm activity, which increases aeration and water-holding capacity of the soil. For these reasons, crops grown with AgriPOWER® have improved drought tolerance.
